Harvard Prize Book Award Ceremony 2025/26
Guest-of-Honour Mr Heng Swee Keat, once a Prize Book recipient himself, returns to honour 25 young Singaporeans recognised not for grades, but for character and service. A rare members-only afternoon at SGX: awards ceremony, tea reception, and an exclusive small-group tour of the Exchange.
The Harvard Prize Book is the Club’s longest-running tradition. Each year, schools across Singapore nominate one pre-tertiary student whose character — not their results — sets them apart: the classmate who organises a tutoring circle in a rental block, the dancer teaching kids in a children’s home, the student council president who quietly visits a sick teacher every Saturday. The Prize Book recognises altruism, and the small acts that build a more caring society.
For the 2025/26 ceremony, we are honoured to be hosted by SGX at their auditorium, with Mr Heng Swee Keat — Chairman of the National Research Foundation, former Deputy Prime Minister, and a Harvard Kennedy School alumnus — presenting the awards to the 25 recipients. Ms Teo Ai June, Head of Marketing & Communications at SGX Group, will speak alongside our Club presidents and the leaders of the HBS Club mentoring programme that supports HPB alumni in the years after the prize.
Two HPB alumni will share their journeys after the award — the projects they continued, the communities they grew into. It is, every year, the most quietly moving part of the afternoon.
The ceremony is, in the main, for the recipients, their families, and school representatives — roughly 125 guests in total. As our host this year, SGX has generously made a small number of seats available to the Harvard Club community. We are opening them first to dues-paying HCS members, on a first-come basis, before any wider release. If you have been meaning to renew, this is the kind of moment your membership unlocks.
