If you click the “submit and checkout” button available at the checkout pages of this site, you are aware that you are making the following declarations upon which the Harvard Club of Singapore (the “Club”) will rely to determine your eligibility for membership:
- You confirm that the information you entered into the form is true and accurate.
- You have reviewed the eligibility criteria for the Club, as well as the Club’s process for determining eligibility, set out at the membership description page.
- You agree that, notwithstanding Paragraph 2, the determination of your eligibility made by the Club’s Membership Subcommittee shall be final and is not subject to further review. You understand that the Club may, from time to time, deny membership to applicants who may qualify as a Harvard alumni but whose admission to the Club’s membership may endanger the physical or psychological safety of other Club members.
- You accept that, if are approved to become a member of the Club, you will be bound by, and accordingly, you warrant that you will comply with, all the Club’s rules and regulations, including, without limitation, those set out in its Constitution and other charter documents, as they are from time to time in force.
- Subject to the Club’s approval of your membership application, you hereby irrevocably consent to the Club’s collection of your personal data to administer the services customarily provided by alumni associations having a similar stature (measured globally) as the Club’s and to administer your membership, including, without limitation, sending you electrically distributed newsletters and other marketing materials, provided, always, that the Club will offer you an avenue for unsubscribing from such marketing outreach.
- You irrevocably consent to having your likeness be reproduced on or in the Club’s premises, publications and/or marketing materials without prior notification or consent
- You warrant that you shall ensure that the guests you may from time to time invite to the Club’s events and premises (whether licensed, leased, time-shared or owned) (the “Invited Guests”) shall have consent to the Club’s collection of their personal data (including their likeness) for reproduction on or in the Club’s premises, publications and/or marketing materials before such Invited Guests are allowed to enter into the Club’s premises (including the premises where the Club is holding its events). You will indemnify the Club in full for a breach of your warranty.
- You acknowledge and agree that the Club (which expression shall include its officers, the members of the management committee, its employees, agents and independent contractors), to the fullest extent permitted under law, does not accept and specifically disclaims any duty to prevent and, accordingly, any liability for personal injury and/or property damage to you, the guests that you invite to the Club’s events, and your respective properties.
- To the extent that law does not permit the Club to fully disclaim any duty or liability towards you, you agree that the Club liability towards you, in any event, shall not exceed S$1,000 for any personal injury or property damage.
- You have reviewed the Club’s data governance practices set out in the Club’s Data Protection Notice for Members and Donors, consent to these practices, and understand your rights to access or correct your personal data or to withdraw your consent to the Club’s collection, use or disclosure of your data.
- You have reviewed the rules you must comply with when you visit or otherwise make use of the Club’s content and other resources that are hosted at the harvard.sg domain. You agree to abide by these rules and will indemnify the Club for all damages, fines and losses (whether foreseeable or otherwise) that the Club may suffer or incur that arise out of or are related to your failure to comply with these rules (whether or not intentional).
